Sample Trips
Kumeran Canyon:
The most northern canyon in the
Judean desert, the trail
begins at an archeological reserve, the site
of the discovery
of the Dead Sea Scrolls. We start
off on a short hike leading
to our first waterfall
(mostly dry, depending on the season)
where we rappel
down a drop ( 132 feet / 40 meter ). We will
continue
our descent by ladder (10 feet drop), followed
by a
mountain scale descent ( 26.5 feet / 8 meter ) leading
us
to our final waterfall-rappelling descent ( 100
feet / 30 meter ).
Tamar Canyon:
We begin our journey at a lookout
west of the Arava Junction.
We start our descent down a steep snake path leading into
the Tamar Canyon , where we defeat gripping
terrain, created
seasonally by intense flashfloods. We arrive at our first drop
and have two (2) options for descent. The first method is '
via ferrata', down ladders, and the second method is to rappel
the drop ( 23 meters / 76 feet ). We then head towards a rock
slide, passing through more seasonally charged terrain on the way.
We slide down, assisting ourselves by rope. There we encounte
r our final drop ( 20 meters / 65 feet ) which we rappel down.
