Northern
Judean Desert
Our adventure starts in Mishor
Adumim, jeeping along our trail southbound
towards Har Montar. This mountain
is famous from the days that the Holy Temple in Jerusalem
was standing. From this mountain, the sa'ir le'azazel was
sent forth every Yom Kippur. We continue
our journey to the
Marsava Convent, which dates back
to 500 BCE, and is still used today by the Greek Orthodox
community. Our journey then takes us eastward through
the Horcania Valley.
We come to a breathtaking lookout over the Dead
Sea. We continue northbound to reach our final
stop at Almog, from which we make
our ascent back to Jerusalem along the main roads.

Central Judean Desert
Our day trip gets underway at the Dragot
Resorts. We will journey south through Nachal
T'koa. Our outing continues with us weaving
through
Nachal Hatsotson until we
reach Rujum Anaka, an old British
Police Station that dates back to the British Mandate.
Our trip brings us next to a lookout over Nachal
Arugot (Ein Gedi), famous for the caves
where King David hid from Saul the King. Our expedition
continues
to a magnificent viewpoint over the Dead
Sea at Mitzpe Machvar and
finally brings us back to the Dragot Resort.
